Joining the Takeover on the savory side:
The Happy Grilled Cheese (Saturday / Sunday): People’s choice for best food truck in all four major Jacksonville publications, The Happy Grilled Cheese is one of Jacksonville’s heavy hitters! Take it cheesy with their Daddy of the Mac and loaded cheese fries. Plus, Pro Tip: you can add mac and cheese to any sandwich if you’re feeling decadent! Our favorite is to add it to the California melt! You’re also not going to want to miss their sweet, decadent, chocolate laden S’mores melt!
Cackylacky’s (Saturday): Gourmet burgers and hot dogs await you at this new truck that has bold unique flavors all over the menu! Craving a gyro? How about a Greek Knight burger with gyro meat and tzatziki? Like it spicy? Poblano mayo will kick it up a notch on any burger! They’re hand pattying and hand cutting all their burgers and fries for freshness and authenticity you can’t find many other places. Cackylacky’s goes the extra mile for you, so definitely swing by this new truck and show them some love!
Mr Potato Spread (Saturday): Not a single person on this planet can turn down a massive loaded potato. Mr Potato Spread is fulfilling this great need in Jax with over the top potatoes and loaded fries that will carb load you right into heaven. Want it topped with broccoli and cheese? Go for it. Want it loaded down with meat? They’ve got you covered. Want it covered in CRAB BOIL?! Your dreams have come true.
Wurst Busters (Saturday): Traditional German cuisine? Yes, please! Knockwurst, currywurst, spaetzle, German potato salad, cucumber salad, and more await you from Wurst Busters! We’ve had quite a sampling of their menu and we love their spaetzle covered with grilled onions and their amazing sauerkraut with a currywurst! This is simple German food done right, and we couldn’t be more appreciative that they moved to Jax to serve it!
Cuban Fire Grill (Saturday): Authentic, slow cooked, homemade cuban cuisine featuring Cuban sandwiches, lechon asado, ropa vieja, and flan for dessert. Their steak sandwich is ridiculously good for all the meat lovers out there! We’re also very appreciative that they serve their Cuban sandwiches with potato sticks, it’s such a nice touch! They were recently named by our readers as Best Cuban Food in Jacksonville, so check them out!
Hapa Li (Saturday): This food truck took Jax by storm last year and hasn’t slowed down since. Tender pulled pork, chicken, and their signature spamiyaki burger give us on the mainland a taste of paradise! Specialty items spam musubi and dessert haupia are unique and flavorful and simply can’t be found anywhere else. Your day isn’t complete without living the #hapalife!
Treemendous Sea and Soul Food (Saturday): Longtime BBQ favorite Treemendous has branched out into the soul food category with their new truck, and we are in love! Fresh fried massive grouper filets, Mayport shrimp baskets, oxtail, no filler crab cakes, fried pork tenderloin sandwiches, and homemade southern sides. Can you ask for anything better? You know if it’s coming from the Treemendous brand then it’s quality food and quality service, so show them some love at their Takeover debut!
Blazin Azn (Saturday): Bacon fried rice is all we really need to say, but there is SO much more to love at Blazin Azn. Spring rolls, egg rolls, and incredibly tender teriyaki shrimp and chicken are all worth ordering. Plus, they are now featuring sushiritos and a sushi menu on the truck! Chef Charlie loves to surprise us with over the top rally specials too! There’s a fusion of flavors at Blazin Azn so we have faith there is something that everyone will enjoy! They were recently named best Japanese by our readers, so stop by and check out why they voted him #1!
Berndt Ends (Saturday):This Florida BBQ style food truck came out swinging with bold flavors, low and slow smoked meats, and homemade sauces. They are defining Florida BBQ with their award winning brisket and ribs, in fact they were recently named the best brisket in Jax! Truly, you can’t go wrong with anything off Berndt Ends menu. Even their sides shine all by themselves, don’t miss the dat’l beans and the crak mac (slow smoked mac and cheese)!
Chubby Burrito (Saturday): One of the most popular Mexican trucks in Jacksonville, Chubby Burrito specializes in authentic Mexican style street food. All food is freshly prepared daily and focuses on simple, authentic flavors. The carne asada street tacos and chicken tinga burritos are can’t miss orders. Oh, and did we mention there are churros?!
Twisted T’s Chicken and Waffles (Saturday): Chicken and waffles are a match made in heaven, and Twisted T’s knows how to do it right! Their chicken wings are perfectly crisp and seasoned and paired with their savory waffles make for a filling meal. He’s also got Chili Cheese loaded waffles! Craving dessert? His red velvet waffles or his cinnamon roll waffles are huge and decadent and an ideal sweet treat for a Takeover!
Cajun Cravins 2 Go (Sunday): Another newcomer to Jacksonville, Cajun Cravins 2 Go is actually a seasoned food truck veteran that moved here to serve! They’ve got all your authentic cajun favorites including stellar red beans and rice and gumbo, but they’re also making and smoking all their own sausages in house! The flavors are bold at Cajun Cravins, we know our cajun fans will be thrilled to have a taste of home!
What’s the Catch (Sunday): Some of the best, most flavorful, and delicious seafood tacos are coming off What’s the Catch food truck. You can find their vintage Airstream at festivals around Jacksonville and beyond, but we are happy to be seeing them more often! We can’t do without their ahi tuna. The best part about What’s the Catch is it’s bringing truly local flavors to the locals – most tacos are inspired by what’s freshly available in Jacksonville. They’re debuting a new menu this week, so don’t miss the Alabama Hot Fish!
4 Trees Smokehouse (Sunday): Definitely not a stranger to BBQ, 4 Trees Smokehouse is the mobile version of the long time favorite Big Oak BBQ in Middleburg. They have all your BBQ cravings including slow smoked pulled pork, beef brisket, tender ribs, and homemade sides. We always prefer a combo platter because variety is the spice of life, but also because 4 Trees delivers big flavor across the board and you won’t want to miss anything!
Bubba Burger (Sunday): The classic and quintessential American brand is now mobile and you can only find them in Jacksonville! Bubba Burger is serving up your favorite flavors including traditional burgers, turkey burgers, and veggie burgers alongside signature items like their delicious and decadently over the top mashed potato burger. They all come served with their signature Bubba chips for flavors that will take you back to childhood!

Get your daily serving of fruit with these sweet as pie caramel apple funnel cakes, or try one loaded with chocolate for a richer treat. If you’re a traditionalist, there are sugar coated originals that stand alone as the best in Jax even without toppings!
Nitrogen Creamery (Saturday): Do you think ice cream is the best dessert in the world? You’ll love it even more made with nitrogen! All flavors are homemade daily using -320 degree nitrogen! The use of the nitrogen brings out the true flavors of each ice cream and make it quite a decadent treat. We’re big fans of the nutella (who isnt?) and we’d give up all other ice creams for an unlimited supply of their honey cinnamon.
Not Your Mama’s Treats (Saturday): Our newest dessert truck, Not Your Mama’s Treats is hitting the streets and changing the game! Fresh cake slices including speciality carrot cake, red velvet, customer favorite cheesecakes, peanut butter pops, and more! They’re making everything from scratch with love and family recipes. They still integrate their beloved popsicles, but also now offer macaron ice cream sandwiches, fruit bowls, smoothies, and more! If you’re looking for a healthy, delicious, yet indulgent treat this should be on your list! They’re consistently an award winning dessert truck with their specialty meregnon!
Van D’s Dutch Delights (Sunday): In a sea of cakes, be a waffle. That’s the old saying right? This truck brings Dutch stroopwafels to the streets which is basically a waffle cookie hybrid. They’re crisp and lightly sweet alone, or try them with a drizzle of caramel, Nutella stuffing, or ice cream to amp it up! They make milkshakes, ice cream, and serve delicious coffee for all your traditional dessert needs. If you want to try something you’ve truly never tried before, Van D’s needs to be your first stop!
